What is Collaborative Divorce?
Collaborative Divorce is a divorce process that involves a team approach to resolution of marital disintegration. Divorce can be devastating to both partners, children, extended family members, finances and all future direction.
This team approach includes divorcing partners who are each represented by their attorney of choice. They are mutually advised by a financial expert. Included on theteam is a trained neutral facilitator.
While this may seem like a lot of professionals to include, the goal of the process is to avoid court and to prevent the animosity that often accompanies divorce. In fact, the partners MUST sign a commitment to NOT go to court. The result is that there are now TWO healthy functioning families. Children negotiate divorce more positively when parents are not bitter enemies.
