Marta Marshall is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and has been at Carrollwood Counseling since 2006. Marta received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Longwood College in Farmville, VA in 1999 and a Masters and Specialist degree in Counseling from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA in 2003. Marta specialized in substance abuse during her internship and completed a thesis on domestic violence.
In 2003, Marta moved to Tampa, FL and began work with a local agency addressing both substance abuse and mental health issues, providing counseling and assessment services in both inpatient and outpatient settings until 2009, at which time she decided to focus solely on her private practice. Marta has worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to address many issues, including but not limited to, women’s issues, relationship concerns, marital problems, stress, parenting, drug and alcohol use, anxiety, depression, and overall adjustment to challenging situations. In addition, Marta has experience working with adolescents and their families.
Marta aims to assist individuals in finding their motivation to make positive changes and live their best life. She believes that all people should be treated with respect and that counseling can provide a safe place to discuss personal issues and seek lasting solutions to life’s challenges.
